Reiki Healing Technique: NOTE Reiki is now available again as the Covid - 19 restrictions are eased
Reiki is a healing technique that has its origins from Japan.
Reiki has a positive effect on the patient whatever the illness is. This includes minor things such as headaches, muscular soreness, hay fever, tension and anxiety as well as serious illness. Also, post operative pain and depression may be assisted with Reiki, allowing for an increased healing rate.
Reiki means “universal life force energy”. It is a totally safe, wholistic treatment allowing the patient to rebalance by deeply relaxing the whole body, mind and spirit. The Reiki energy is a beautiful subtle energy that heals and enhances the quality of life.
Reiki is beneficial as a treatment on its own or in conjunction with whatever other treatments the patient may be having. Reiki can act to reduce pain, reduce stress and anxiety and reduce the negative side effects of some medical treatments.
A typical Reiki treatment lasts approximately 40 to 50 minutes with the patient generally lying down on a massage table. However, if this is not comfortable, they can remain seated in a chair. For stress reduction, one to three sessions are generally adequate, however if the stress or anxiety is ongoing, then regular treatments would be recommended. The patient generally relaxes very deeply and is left with a feeling of refreshment, peace and wellbeing.
For chronic health problems, Reiki is best received on a regular basis of one treatment per week or fortnight for a while and then two to three weekly when improvement begins to hold.
